Three Yellow Cards

Hi there,

Hope your weekend was lovely!

I was in a yellow mood the other day and ended up making three yellow cards! One birthday card and two thank you cards.

For the birthday card I inked the Large Blossom with Versamark, the Old Letter Writing with Pumice Stone Distress Ink, kissed the two stamps and clear embossed on Hero Arts Daffodil layering paper.
The result was not as I had hoped, with the embossed part not showing up very well. So I used my Ink Blending Tool to add more Pumice Stone over the image to make it stand out more.
In the end I'm really happy with how it turned out! :-)

On the background of this card, I stamped the flowery border from the Garden Borders set several times with Malted Milk ink. The rose image, frame and sentiment are all stamped with Versafine black ink and clear embossed . This way it was easier to add color to the images. I used a water brush and distress inks for the coloring.

On the last card, I stamped the Leaf and Floral Background in Soft Sand Shadow Ink and inked the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. The frame is stamped in Wet Cement Mid-Tone ink and the sentiment is heat embossed with Zing Charcoal embossing powder. This powder is a bit difficult to use because little particles always sticks to the paper.

I think my favorite is the birthday card. Which is your favorite of the three?

  1. Love them all... do I have to choose?! OK the first one, cause I love embossing and the kissing is perfect! Thanks for joining the fun at my blog!

  2. Yep, the birthday one is my favorite too,
    The extra blending worked great!

  3. I love them all and I usually don't do yellow, but these are so lovely. There's something about the Happy Birthday card that just pulls my interest. Hugs.

  4. They all have been created wiath the most excellent workmanship. Lovely, all three. But my favorite is the Happy Birthday...I'm going to try my hand at re-creating it as closely as I can with the inks I have available. Thanks for sharing.
